Arapaho Strike-a-lite, 1870 / Published / Ex Ralph Hubbard
A pouch made from commercial leather, decorated with sinew-sewn seed beads. The recto side is fully beaded on the bodice, whereby a apple green center is framed on the sides by cranberry red blocks and pierced by an inward piercing pony trader blue triangle. The opening and the base seam are decorated with a row if tin cones. The corners of the base seam are ornamented with braided fringe. Two penned inscriptions can be found. One, found underneath the flap on the recto-side, says, "A Merry Xmas / And a Happy New Year / A.D. 1882"; the other, found on the back, reads, "Miss. Viv. Kent / Loveland / Colo". Accompanying the pouch is a custom wall stand.
